Tim Tebow, the Heisman winning quarterback for the Florida Gators, is the subject of an anti-abortion TV commercial that will air during the Super Bowl. This, quite predictably, has the bedwetters and feminists on the left virtually apoplectic. The Womens Media Center is lashing out at CBS for having the audacity to air the spot:

… CBS is aligning itself with a political stance that will damage its reputations, alienate viewers, and discourage consumers from supporting its shows and advertisers.

WHOA! Wait just a bloody second. Does not Focus on the Family (the sponsor of the ad) have the right to purchase (extremely expensive) airtime to present a message they believe in? Does not CBS have a right to accept those ad dollars and air the commercial? Of course they do you twits! And you have the right to change the channel when the spot airs. SHEESH!

As a Gator fan and Jacksonville (Tim’s home town) resident, I have had the distinct pleasure of being able to follow the career of this incredible young man from a home town perspective. Not only is he a fine athlete (although I’m not convinced he will be a successful NFL quarterback), he is a fantastic team leader and an overwhelmingly positive inspiration to his schoolmates. He is also not ashamed to display his Christian heritage and devotion to God. You could probably say that Tim Tebow’s influence has made it somewhat cool to be a decent person rather than a gangsta thug like so many of today’s sports idols. Is there something wrong with this?

After all, who would you rather have as a son or prospective son-in-law?
