Ray LaHood – another serial moron
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood just missed pulling off a Guinness-worthy feat yesterday. He almost succeeded in sticking one foot in his mouth while simultaneously shooting himself in the other foot. In the morning LaHood, testifying before the House Appropriations committee, advised that Toyota owners should stop driving their cars and bring them to the dealer. Toyota stock nosedived 8% immediately following LaHood’s admonition.
Shortly thereafter he “clarified” his statement to reporters, saying that he “misspoke.” DOH!
Given his background (educator and politician from Illinois) fits perfectly with the administration’s template for political appointees, one has to wonder if there may be an ulterior motive for going after Toyota. After all the government owns over 60% of GM and Toyota is a non-union employer.
